Ok,I screwed up....

I had wanted to show off my bobblehead collection on this post. I had gotten in another bobble to show off tonight with the rest of my collection. However, like an empty headed sap, I left the bobble on my desk at work. So I guess I can show it off tomorrow with about three others as I will be dropping by a guy who is on the Spawn forums as well as a bobble forum I recently joined. He's selling me some Yankee bobbles for the collection so, I can show off all of my treasures then.

Until then, I wanted to show off my player collections one card at a time. I collect four players, two of them I am trying to build a serious collection of and that would be Mark Teixeira and Martin Brodeur. I also collect Tino Martinez and David Lee. With Tex, I currently stand at 172 cards and Marty at 223, I think. I will get the exact number tomorrow. So what I will do each day is to show off one card of Brodeur and Teixeira each to keep the blog moving. This helps to keep the blog moving so there is something new to see, especially if there is no mailday. Yes,I know I'm cheating, but I really want to put effort into this blog and I work long hours and then work out after, so my brain goes into zzzzzz mode at night.

First off, is this beauty:

2009 Topps Mark Teixeira Yankee Stadium Inaugural Season Patch Card. I do realize it's manufatcured, but I really like the way these look. They add variety to a player collection, I think. Bought it off ebay for about $7.00 delivered.

I don't have very many Brodeur autos in my PC. I have only three. His is an expensive auto, averaging about $70.00 and up. I was lucky to have been able to buy this 2002 Hot Prospects Hotgraphs auto card for about $35.00. Not cheap, but compared to some of his other autos, It is pretty darn affordable.

That's all for tonight. Thanks for reading.

I'm Baaaaaaaacccccckkkk!

Good news everyone. My laptop issue has been resolved and I can post pics on here again. There has been a few things I've gotten since I last posted and I will get pics up as soon as I can, quite possibly tonight.

I have also moved away a bit from collecting McFarlanes and to collecting bobbleheads. I have always had a facination for bobbles. I had a few and saw a few at a card show recently for dirt cheap and the rest is history. My collection has grown to close to 20 bobbles in the last month with more on their way in. I'll probably do a blog about them tonight complete with pics. I'm meeting up with a bobblehead collector on Friday to pick up some more and to pick his brain about how to collect them, what to look for, what's the best way to store and protect them, etc. I may make that visit into a blog as well. I'm looking forward to it.

Talk to you all later.

3/24/2010

Hey everyone,

Still sans computer and posting this at work so I have to make this fast.

Yesterday recieved David Robertson c/o Yankees ST. Signed a 2009 Bowman in black, didn't sign the Yankee Stadium custom.

Today finally bought Jeremy Roenick. He signed a Blackhawks puck in thin black ink, didn't return the customs I sent with puck. Took about 4 months.

Two days with returns. Hopefully some of the other stuff I sent out will be returning soon.

3/1/2010-Mailday

Hey everyone,

Happy March to you all. The beautiful thing is we get spring training games starting tomorrow. I can't wait to see baseball again.

I looked into seeing if you can upload pics from your cell phone and apparently you can. However, I have sprint and spirnt doesn't allow that, so I'll need to figure out another way to upload pics to my blog until I'm able to get a new laptop.

Today bought in former Yankees pitcher Walt Terrell. He signed 2 cards and a custom Yankee Stadium card for the Yankees PC. Nice success.

2/25/2010-Mailday

As it snows, yet again, here in NYC, I got another return from ST. Today's mail comes from Phoenix, AZ, home of the Oakland A's ST. Former Yankees catcher and current A's Manager Bob Geren signed 2 cards and a Yankee Stadium custom card. This was my second time sending a request to him. He didn't respond last year. Nice to be able to add him to the Yankees collection.

Still looking into seeing if I can upload pics here from my cell. If anyone knows, can you please tell me if it's possible and how?

Thanks.

2/24/2010 mailday

Still another day without a laptop. I gotta look into seeing if I can upload pics to this blog from my blackberry. That would help alot.

Today bought me a return from Billy Sample, who played one year with the Yankees. He signed a 1986 Topps card and a Yankee Stadium custom card in blue ink. He also took the time to write a short letter thanking me for the letter and he was proud to be a part of my collection and wished me luck with it. He also asked if we were getting more snow and said enough already, lol. He lives in the same area as I do. I love the small touches like that. To me, it shows the athletes are very apprecitive of the fans and that means a lot to me.

I also got an RTS from Paul Blair, but it had his forwarding address on it so I just popped it into another envleope and mailed it right back out. Well see how long that takes to come back.

2/23/2010

I haven't been able to post here because my laptop is about to be given it's last rites. I'm posting this from my work computer. I can't really save pics on it, so until I'm able to buy a new laptop, I will just post what I have gotten and post pics later. I have gotten in recently:

Chad Moehler-Signed a Topps 08 and a Yankee Stadium custom. This was sent to Orioles ST and returned in under a week

Johnny Bower-This puzzled me as he usually signs and returns in under a weeks time, but it took 2 months. I was worried as I hoped his health was ok. He's a great signer and a terrific ambassador to hockey. He signed a Maple Leafs puck in silver paint pen and added HOF inscription. He also signed my custon card and added a signed post card of him holding the Stanley Cup. It was also postmarked from FL rather than Canada.

Kevin Weekes-Signed 2 customs, a Devils puck and a 08-09 UD Series 2 card in about 2 months. This was sent to him c/o Hockey Night In Canada.

Brian Dayett-Former Yankee Outfielder signed a 1982 Donruss and a Yankee Stadium custom in about a week.

jon Lieber-Signed 2 Topps cards and a Yankee Stadium custom in about 2 weeks time sent in care of his home. This was a third times a charm one as I had sent to him 2x before in care of the Phillies and never got them back.

That's all for now. Hopefully I can get my laptop replaced rather quickly so I can post pics here again.
