New Yankee Card pick up

Just to remind you all that I do still collect my Yankees, I just got this beauty in the mail. An ebay purchase, it is a 1998 Circa Boss Insert I needed for the Yankees PC.

This card is everything I love about inserts. The graphics, the colors and it's a Yankee.

Jeter has become even more expensive (If you can believe that!) since he joined the 3,000 hit club, but I was able to grab this one for a steal at 1.99, plus free shipping.

Now, I just have to put this bad boy with the rest of the 1998 Circa cards I have. That will be a task and a half. I still have piles of cards to put into binders. Anyone have any tricks of how you organize your cards?

2010 Mark Teixeira Cards

With The 2011 baseball cards set to be realised within the next month, I wanted to take a sec and reflect on the 2010 Mark Teixeira cards I was able to add to my Teixeira PC during the past year. The collection stands currently at 222 cards and I'm anxiously waiting for the new releases so I can add more to the growing collection.

Here are the cards I bought, traded, begged, pleaded and cajoled for in 2010:

Topps

Topps Finest base

Topps Legandary Lineage Teixeira/Gehrig insert

This was an insert I picked up at a card show for a penny. Love that price

Pure Heat insert

Upper Deck base

Biography inserts
Obviously, this is not all the Teixeira cards that were released in 2010. I am still working on getting to as complete as possible. I would most likely have to pass up the high dollar cards, but that's fine as long as I'm happy with my collection.
I'm sorry for the cruddy pics. I really need to get a new camera or buy a scanner.
I will also be working on getting my Teixeira have list on here. I'm always looking for Teixeira cards, GU, autos, posters, bobbles, figures, etc.
Bring on 2011 Topps!

Told You I Had A Lot.....

See that picture above? Remember what I said last week about having some boxes of cards to look through? Say hello to my little friend...
2 monster boxes form the bottom with various size boxes creeping toward the heavens. All filled to capacity with Yankee cards. I guess I have a few doubles and triples in there. I'm gonna have some fun going through them and putting them in their binders, but I also know it's gonna take a while to finish. Maybe there are some cool inserts in there I forgot I had. Gonna start tonight during the Hockey and Basketball games. My game planis to go but makers. Tonight I will start with Topps cards only. I'll let you know if Ifind anything sweet.

Friday, Baby!!

I am so glad the weekend is here. It seems that as I get older the weeks get longer and longer. Going to the movies tonight to see Iron Man on IMAX , card show tomorrow and Yankees game on Sunday (Please dear God, don't let Mitre start, PLEASE!!), so it will be a busy weekend for me.

I spent a lot of the week making a list of the Mark Teixeira cards I already own. I should be finished with it sometime this weekend and will figure out a way to post it on here in case anyone has anything I need and wants to make a trade. I was gonna make of list of the cards I need, but gosh, it's a long list. He has over 5,000 cards and I don't even have 200 yet, lol.

I took a break last night and was started to organize my Jets cards. Looking them over, I had to admit to myself, I love cardboard. I love collecting, I love trading and I love looking them over, like precious jewels. As much as I love the base, I think I love inserts even more. Card companies can be creative in making inserts. I think they add a certing oomph to a card collection.

I love the look of these two. Both will be in my player PC's for life. I also think that they make a plasyer pc stand out more. Sure, you can go for Rookies, Autos and game used, but depending on the player (in my case Brodeur), the autos can be very expensive. Chasing inserts, I believe, not only helps grow your collection, but makes it quite unique. I guess I'm kinda old school in the way I think. I may be one of the few people who loves 90's sets for all those inserts.

I recently discovered a blogger who goes by the name Waxaholic. Great read. If you haven't read his blog, do so. You won't be sorry you did.
